A bit about me:

My name is Audra Butler and I am the school counselor at Selma Middle School in Selma, IN. I have a BS in Psychology and my MA in School Counseling, both from Ball State University.

I grew up in Decatur Indiana with my parents and two younger sisters. I was a 10 year 4H member and graduated from Bellmont High School in 2014.  I didn't have a counselor at the parochial middle school I attended, but I wish I did. I hope I can be the person for you and your family that I wish I had had.

In my free time, I like to paint and draw, kayak, read, and cook meals with friends. I play the piano and guitar. I love to travel every chance I get, and I have two adorable cats named Apollo and Lilah.

My Mission:

My job is to provide comprehensive academic, social-emotional, and career guidance and counseling for all students at SMS regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, gender identity, or ability status.

I do lots of one-on-one check ins, crisis intervention, and schoolwide preventative lessons that often take the form of educational videos on my canvas page. I primarily provide services and programs in person, but I am always able to be reached through email or phone. This website serves as a home base for anyone curious about what I do, what I value, or how to contact me.

The services and programs are valuable because they allow me to connect with my students, and help them to work together and independently to attain knowledge, make plans, and succeed in life.

I value compassion, open-mindedness, flexibility, hard work and open communication. I am passionate about advocating for all of my students and their families.

Thank you!

Ms. Audra Butler ♡
